OUR HISTORY…
Goodman House is named in honour of Roy Goodman. Mr. Goodman lived with a mental illness and upon his death bequeathed $100,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association in order to help those in need in British Columbia. Mr. Goodman’s family asked that the bequest be used to purchase a house on the North Shore that would be used as for transitional housing that supported people to move toward increased mental health and independent living.
In the summer of 2006, this vision became a reality.
