Hearing voices can be a confusing and isolating experience. This weekly support group provides an opportunity to share experiences and coping strategies with others who also hear voices.
This is free, drop-in group for anyone who hears or has heard voices, and who would like to talk about it in a non-judgmental, supportive and confidential environment. The group is open to anyone who hears voices, and friends and family members who want to help.
Group members share stories, examine the nature of their voices and share ideas on how best to cope while living with their voices. The group is run by an occupational therapist and a peer support worker who herself hears voices, and who has learned how to manage well with this unique experience.
“It is really hard to talk about my experience with friends or family…but here, I can. It’s so comforting to know I’m not alone.” – Hearing Voices member
The Hearing Voices support group meets every Wednesday from 2:00-3:00 pm at CMHA North and West Vancouver, #300 – 1835 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the group, please contact Gill, Occupational Therapist at 604-649-1983.
