Monthly Book Club

Learn how to fold origami and create art for the home, family and friends. With this social group, you can enjoy an opportunity to take a break and work on a new skill while connecting with community. This practice can be beneficial for managing anxiety, practicing mindfulness and to use as a coping skill.

Chronic Pain Support Group
Tuesdays | 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm
A space meant to decrease isolation and foster social support among people living with chronic pain. As a peer-based group, participants are encouraged to share personal stories of managing chronic pain and to provide each other with a compassionate listening ear and supportive presence.

Mindfulness Meditation & Movement
Tuesdays | 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Create positive energy for yourself and others in this Mindful Movements and Meditation class rooted in Kundalini yoga, that is suitable for those wanting to raise their endorphins, finding stillness from within and elevating their sense of well-being.
In-person at the HOpe Centre Sacred Space. Drop-in to a max of 15 participants. Masks mandatory.

Wednesdays | 10:00 am – 12:00 pm *the group will resume September 2023*
Follow along with the instructor and others in the group to create a painting based on a different example image, photo, or inspiration each week. If you have never tried watercolours before, you will find it a very relaxing and meditative experience, and the results will amaze you. No experience is necessary. Art Therapy for Wellness
Wednesdays | 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Fridays | 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Weekly art therapy is offered via video conference to support self-care and wellness. After a quick check-in, individuals create art in any medium. The facilitator is available during this time to assist participants in choosing basic supplies from the home to use in expressing their inner world. Then, together, you will look at the image to discover any personal meaning or insights.

Circle of Hope – Farsi Speaking Women’s Group

The Circle of Hope welcomes Farsi speaking people who identify as women to drop-in and enjoy some social time together each week. In-person at the Kelty Centre.

Guided meditations are offered weekly by videoconference to relax your body and mind and help you to center in your heart. Each gathering includes a guided meditation plus a short video from various mediation teachers on expanding awareness and peace.
