Providing Support from Far and Wide

Professional dancer and yoga instructor Jenn Edwards (who also happens to be the daughter of our Volunteer Coordinator, MJ Moore) is offering support to the North Shore community by providing free yoga classes through Zoom all the way from St. John’s, Newfoundland where she is sheltering in place with her partner in his family home.

“Yoga has played a big role in my life over the past decade. As a dancer and dance instructor, it’s helped to keep me strong and grounded, both physically and mentally,” shares Jenn, “It’s exciting to be able to share my love for yoga from all the way across the country, with the CMHA community. I believe that movement is for everyone, can happen anywhere, and doesn’t require any fancy equipment. My classes can be taken on a carpet, blanket or mat… all you need is yourself, in comfy clothing. My classes draw a lot of inspiration from dance, with poses often flowing together, in tandem with breath. I believe that if we can simply feel our bodies with curiosity, patience and compassion, we can surprise ourselves with what we’re able to do”.

Yoga with Jenn takes place weekly on Monday from 11 am – 12 pm PST via Zoom. Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/94574062506
