On July 14, 2020, Julia Kaisla, our Executive Director, was interviewed by the North Shore News about the homeless crisis on the North Shore. The article was initiated by a letter sent to the three North Shore mayors to ask for their action to protect those in our community living precariously.
The letter asked the mayors to provide a written response to the signers of the letter by July 31, 2020. The signers were CMHA NWV, Lookout Housing and Health and the North Shore Task Force.
CMHA NWV will keep our supporters apprised of local government responses. In the meantime, we ask for your continued advocacy. It will take all of us to create a more equitable and compassionate society, and achieve our vision of mental healthy people in a healthy society.
