Closing Circle of Care: A Message from Talayeh Jamshidi, Executive Director

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of CMHA North and West Vancouver’s Circle of Care program, effective March 31, 2025. This decision was not made lightly and reflects the significant challenges of sustaining this program amid ongoing funding limitations and the housing crisis.

Since its launch in February 2019, Circle of Care has provided invaluable transitional housing and support to residents in our community. What began as one residence has grown to three over the years, thanks to partnerships with incredible organizations such as Vancouver Coastal Health’s Health Connections Clinic, North Shore Alliance Church, and Capilano Christian Community. These collaborations have made a meaningful impact, and we are deeply grateful for their steadfast support.

Despite our shared commitment, a recent change in our partnership has meant the end of a critical source of funding. Without this partnership and other reliable external funding sources, CMHA NWV cannot sustain the program. Additionally, the leases for our Circle of Care residences are coming to an end, aligning with the closure timelines.

Transition Support for Residents

Our team is fully focused on supporting the transition of the remaining residents in the Circle of Care 2 and Circle of Care 3 residences. While we are not currently seeking funding or accepting new residents into the program, we are working diligently to secure safe and appropriate housing solutions for those still in our care. This will take time, as the housing crisis continues to present significant challenges.

Transition Timeline

The Circle of Care residences will be transitioned in December 2024 and March 2025, respectively.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we navigate this challenging transition.

Warm regards,
Talayeh Jamshidi
Executive Director
